New Brunswick selects Medbuy as healthcare Group Purchasing Organization of choice

Medbuy is pleased to welcome the entire province of New Brunswick to its membership. The selection of Medbuy means it will provide its services to all zones of the two Regional Health Authorities (Horizon Health Network and Vitalité Health Network) under the leadership of FacilicorpNB, the province's shared services organization.

Medbuy's Board Chair, Sue Denomy, was pleased to announce yesterday the selection of Kent Nicholson as the new President & CEO of Medbuy Corporation. Mr. Nicholson, a senior executive with more than two decades of experience leading organizations to increased market share, productivity and customer satisfaction, will assume the role currently held by Interim CEO, Tony Dagnone, effective October 11.

City of Hamilton joins Medbuy

Medbuy pioneers safe practice guidelines for chemotherapy
products in Canada

Since there are no standardized occupational health and safety guidelines in Canada to handle and deliver chemotherapeutic drugs, hospitals often face related safe practice issues on their own. To help ensure care providers and hospital employees stay safe when handling these hazardous drugs, more than 18 months ago, Medbuy formed a clinical oncology advisory committee, which is comprised of pharmacy professionals from several provinces. It's the first of its kind in the country and aims to support and enhance service to our Members.

Medbuy Members will realize significant cost savings on pharmaceutical products as a result of more than 58 recently awarded contracts that were a part of one of the largest sourcing initiatives in Medbuy's nearly 20-year history.

Members to realize up to 30% savings with new Medbuy contracts for office products

Medbuy Members recently re-awarded three contracts to Corporate Express Canada for stationery products, bond paper and toner that will result in tremendous savings to Member hospitals over the next five years.

Medbuy hospital and healthcare organizations will save an average of up to 30% across the three agreements as compared to pricing from the previous contracts. The new stationery contract alone contains 10,428 line items (or products) - the largest ever Medbuy initiative by number of SKUs - and represents up to a 24% price decrease.
