Purchases and rebates continue upward trend in 2009

2009 was another banner year for Medbuy and its Members. For us, there is only one true measure of success – our ability to deliver on what our Member healthcare providers expect from their GPO partner. This includes our ability to continue to support Members with the tools and strategies necessary to manage costs while ensuring quality.

  • Contract purchases continued to grow, bringing Medbuy’s total purchasing volume for 2009 to almost $757 million.

  • In addition to immediate savings already realized on invoice price, Medbuy collected and returned $46.5 million in rebates to our Members.

  • Lower than budgeted operating expenses – approximately 2-3% favourable to plan – highlights our ability to develop efficiencies in our own business processes.
