Ontario’s Mohawk Supply Chain Services becomes Medbuy Shareholder, work already underway to realize accelerated savings on a number of contracts
(London, ON): Medbuy is pleased to announce that one of the country’s largest shared services organizations, Mohawk Supply Chain Services, is now a Shareholder.
Medbuy will provide group purchasing services to the entire Mohawk collective, broadening its already well-established relationships with healthcare organizations in LHINs 3 & 4. Currently, Mohawk Members spend a combined $200 million through Medbuy contracts. This number will grow as Medbuy and Mohawk deepen their relationship and continue to collaborate even more closely.

As a Shareholder, Mohawk Supply Chain Services will not only participate in Medbuy contracts, but is now among Medbuy’s 21 Member-owners, which include a diverse range of organizations such as teaching hospitals, health authorities and shared services organizations.

Medbuy and Mohawk have been working closely together to accelerate identified savings potential for their joint Member healthcare facilities. Initial estimates target in excess of $80 million in new contracts. These opportunities are expected to grow substantially as the two groups continue to work together.
Among the services provided by the Medbuy/Mohawk collaboration are data management, strategic sourcing, rebate management, savings reporting, procurement, contract management, logistics, warehousing and pandemic supply.
“We see an immediate opportunity to realize savings and pass them to the front lines at a much more accelerated rate by working with Medbuy,” adds Di Emanuele. “We also see a tremendous opportunity for the vendor community to work with us to eliminate inefficiencies and pass on those savings to our healthcare facilities so they can be redirected towards patient care programs.”
