Kent Nicholson
President & CEO
Kent Nicholson was appointed Medbuy's President & CEO in October 2011. He is a senior executive with more than two decades of experience leading organizations to increased market share, productivity and customer satisfaction.
He has a track record of leadership in the healthcare industry as well as several well-known private sector companies. His most recent service, as an executive with a major Canadian diagnostic services company, has given him the perspective of a service provider in the healthcare sector and the know-how to work within provincial health mandates.
As Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer of CML Healthcare, a leading community-based health services provider of laboratory testing and medical imaging, Kent provided leadership for three primary business units that had consolidated revenue of nearly $500 million. His portfolio included a broad range of responsibilities, including marketing and sales, information technology, lab services, medical imaging services and supply chain.
With a career based in engineering, he has also held progressive senior management positions with Imperial Oil Ltd. and Canadian Tire Corporation, where he oversaw the growth of the national retailer's gasoline retail division.
Kent's industry service includes a term as chair of the Ontario Association of Medical Laboratories.
Mike Rosser
Interim Vice President, Strategic Sourcing and Member ServicesAs Interim Vice President, Strategic Sourcing and Member Services, Mike oversees our Medical/Surgical strategic sourcing team, utilizing his healthcare supply chain expertise to guide day-to-day operations. This includes implementing process enhancements, fostering effective business relationships with our Members and other sourcing partners and providing support to new Members and existing customers.
He is one of the most well-known, experienced and respected leaders in healthcare supply chain management in Canada. He has more than 34 years experience working in healthcare support services and recently retired as General Manager of Healthcare Materials Management Services (HMMS) in London, Ontario. HMMS is a shared service organization providing procurement, accounts payable, inventory management and logistics for 14 hospital corporations in southern Ontario. Mike was instrumental in transforming the organization from concept to reality.
Most recently, Mike served as interim General Manager of the Central Ontario Healthcare Purchasing Alliance (COHPA) helping to solidify the organization's operations, reporting and communication structures. Mike has also been of member of the Ontario Buys working group. He is currently co-chair of the Healthcare Supply Chain Network.
Richard Jones
Vice President, Clinical Services, Patient Safety and Business Development
In his role as Vice President, Clinical Services, Patient Safety and Business Development, Richard manages a diverse mix of portfolios, including pharmacy strategic sourcing, business development and clinical services, which effectively integrates clinical evaluation and engagement into our complete sourcing process.
As one of Canada's most respected hospital pharmacists, Richard also works with Members, government and industry partners to advance strategic sourcing in pharmaceuticals - one of the most critically important aspects of the healthcare supply chain. He also plays a central role in advancing a number of quality improvement initiatives to ensure patients are at the centre of our sourcing processes and broader industry programs.
Richard also has responsibility for Medbuy's business development activities, including marketing, Member recruitment and growth within our existing membership.
Prior to joining Medbuy, Richard served as Director of Pharmacy at London, Ontario's London Health Sciences Centre. He has a diverse 30-year pharmacy career not only within the hospital setting, but also in the pharmaceutical manufacturing sector and the field of biochemistry research.
Richard is the immediate Past President of the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists, and currently sits on the Board of the Canadian Foundation for Pharmacy. He is also a fellow in the American College of Health Care Executives. Recently, Richard was appointed to the Board of Directors of the Canadian Pharmacists Association. He is a graduate of the University of Saskatchewan's College of Pharmacy and Nutrition and obtained his hospital pharmacy residency at Saskatoon City Hospital.
Tom Warner
Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial OfficerAs Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer, Tom's role is to drive operational excellence, transparency and accountability across Medbuy. He oversees Medbuy's key support areas, including finance, information technology and our one-of-a-kind decision support services.
Tom is a Chartered Accountant with nearly two decades of progressive financial and operations senior management experience. Prior to joining Medbuy, he served as CFO and CIO of Aquaterra Corporation, a Canadian producer and distributor of bottled water and water filtration systems.
Tom also led the improvement of supply chain performance at the H. J. Heinz Company of Canada manufacturing facility in southwestern Ontario.
In addition to his C.A. designation, Tom holds a B.A. in Commerce and Economics from the University of Toronto.
