St. Joseph's Health System Group Purchasing Organization
Medbuy has partnered with St. Joseph's Health System, Group Purchasing Organization (SJHS-GPO) to offer Members a comprehensive mix of best value capital equipment and food and nutrition contracts on a national scale. The partnership will also allow Members to leverage the power of research and data analytics to secure even greater value within their supply chain. The joint venture will allow Medbuy to add a new, unique level of services to the contracting mix.

SJHS-GPO works together with healthcare facilities, manufacturers, and distributors to create effective supply chain management opportunities to increase efficiencies and drive savings for its members.

MedAssets Supply Chain Systems

Medbuy works with MedAssets to leverage one-of-a-kind electronic data management and reporting tools. As well, MedAssets' technology powers Medbuy's electronic catalogue - an easy-to-use web-based directory of all of the contracted products available through Medbuy.

MedAssets is one of the fastest growing GPOs in North America, partnering with U.S. healthcare providers to improve their financial strength by implementing integrated spend management and revenue cycle solutions that help control cost, improve margins and cash flow, increase regulatory compliance, and optimize operational efficiency. MedAssets serves more than 125 health systems, including 2,500 hospitals and 30,000 non-acute care healthcare providers.

Canadian Association of Paediatric Health Centres (CAPHC)

Medbuy supports CAPHC through a five-year strategic partnership, which provides funding for national child and youth health programs focused on the sharing of best practices and facilitating research opportunities that will impact many areas of child and youth health service delivery.

CAPHC is an organization representing multidisciplinary health professionals that provide health services for children, youth and their families within quaternary and tertiary health centres, community health centres, rehabilitation centres, and home care provider agencies nationwide.

 

Canadian College of Health Service Executives (CCHSE)
Medbuy is a corporate member of CCHSE and works in partnership to sponsor a number of events that provide professional development opportunities of importance to our membership as well as to the healthcare industry at large.

CCHSE is a national, non-profit, professional association dedicated to developing, promoting, advancing and recognizing excellence in health leadership.

 

Healthcare Supply Chain Network (HSCN)

Medbuy is a board member and strong supporter of HSCN, sponsoring a number of events including this year's annual HSCN National Healthcare Supply Chain Conference. The network is an important tool for our Members, many of whom are directly involved with HSCN, as the organization is working to establish and promote Canadian healthcare supply chain standards and leading practices.

HSCN is a Canadian network of healthcare supply chain providers and supplier professionals. It is a young and fast-growing organization that is aimed at improving the effectiveness of Canada's healthcare supply chain, which will in-turn improve patient outcomes.

 

 

GS1 Canada
Medbuy is an active participant in and supporter of GS1's healthcare sector activities. Most recently, Medbuy was pleased to endorse the adoption of the GS1 global standard for the automated identification of pharmaceuticals in Canada.

GS1 Canada is a not-for-profit, industry-led organization that develops, promotes and maintains global standards for the identification of goods, services, locations and related e-commerce communication. As a member organization of GS1, GS1 Canada represents the interests of Canada in the continuing development of the global language of business.

 

Carenet by GS1 Canada
Medbuy currently participates in Carenet as a member of the Board of Directors. In working with Carenet, Medbuy has also played an important role as part of the Healthcare Standards Task Group, whose mandate was to advance the development of implementation guidelines for Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) requirements and to encourage the Canadian healthcare sector's adoption of those standards.

Carenet is GS1 Canada's healthcare sector strategy to standardize the healthcare supply chain. In 2008, Carenet amalgamated with GS1 Canada. The two organizations have partnered to enhance patient safety and drive increased adoption of standardized supply chain and e-commerce practices across the Canadian healthcare sector.

 

Healthcare Industry Group Purchasing Association (HIGPA)
Medbuy is a supporter and member of HIGPA, which serves as an advocate on behalf of health care group purchasing associations; provides educational opportunities designed to improve efficiencies in the purchase, sale and utilization of all goods and services within the health industry; and promotes meaningful dialogue between GPOs.

HIGPA is a broad-based trade association that represents 16 group purchasing organizations, including for-profit and not-for-profit corporations, purchasing groups, associations, multi-hospital systems and healthcare provider alliances.
